Located in Penha de França, at the foot of Paiva Couceiro square, the space has several rooms for events, conferences, receptions and exhibitions with the potential to be used in conjunction with your own schedule.
Founders
Sofia L. Borges independent researcher is dedicated to the construction of discourse within the arts and contemporary politics, through European political theory and artistic practice. Her research lies in the analysis of processes of slow violence in social structures and their representations. With a degree in Fine Arts from ESAD (PT) and a Master's degree in Communication Sciences from FSCH – UNL, she later joined the British academy where she completed a master's degree in Photography at LMU and an MPhil at Goldsmiths College. She is currently a doctoral student at the Department of Contemporary History at the University of Geneva and a Lídia Jorge Chair researcher. She is, at the same time, co-director and co-curator of comıtė.
Stephane Blumer is a visual artist and researcher/teacher in arts, sociology and anthropology. With a Masters in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths College, University of London, he completed, in 2023, a PhD in social anthropology at the École des Hautes Études en Science Sociale (EHESS), in Paris. He was professor of sociology and anthropology in the psychology department at the University of Paris Nanterre and organised research seminars at EHESS in Paris. His research includes current debates surrounding the transformations of capitalism resulting from the ecological, social and economic crises at the beginning of the 21st century, with an interest in a political anthropology of ecosystemic governance and arts research methods.
